Lately bloggers have bashed Xtina for her "Oh, the newcomer? I think she's really fun to look at" comment about Lady Gaga to which the Spanish singer quickly responded:
"It is very easy for comments to be taken out of context and create unnecessary drama-especially between us women," she wrote on her website. "So I would like to tell you all directly so my words can not be misconstrued to sell someone else’s story…I have absolutely nothing against Lady Gaga or any other female artist in this business."
I love the iPod bit because its actually true. Even Xtina's latest music video "Not Myself Tonight" has received a shit load of criticism because of its similarity to Lady Gaga's Bad Romance Vid. Well that's showbiz for ya. I used to listen to Xtina's songs before the "sudden change". She's a fantastic singer and she has a set of pipes on her so I don't know why she has to try and blend in. Isn't the point of being an artist, standing out? How can she stand out if she's blending in?
If any of you haven't noticed, Lady Gaga became famous because she stood out. With the hairstyle that changes everyday, ridiculous costumes which she can actually pull off, foot-long heels, and everything else, she became who she is. Xtina is good, I'll give her that but she isn't the same anymore, she's...well...not herself tonight... =]
