Minor Changes

If you would notice, I have made several minor changes to the layout of the blog. Nothing major really, I just wanted to add a few things.

In case lang naman gusto niyo akong i-follow or i-add.

Okay? Okay.

May mga pages na under construction palang tulad ng 'About Me' or yung 'Under Construction'.

Thank you.

And so far ayan ang mga updates ng aking blog. Hindi ko matapos agad agad ang changes kasi naman very limited ang pwedeng gawin sa template designer so mano mano akong naglalagay ng HTML, CSS, at Javascript codes. Oh diba? Ako na ang IT.

So ayan muna ha. Abangan nalang kung may iba pa akong idadagdag pag tinopak ako.

Day 13

A picture of your favorite band or artist.

It has been and will always be Lady Gaga!

Why?

Coz we were born this way bitches!

All hail Mother Monster!

Year One...

April 19 2010.

One year ago I left my home.

One year ago, I came to Manila and gambled on the possibility of having a better future.

One year ago, I got acquainted with people who would eventually become my closest friends.

One year ago, I braved the streets of Metro Manila without a clue of what's in store for me.

And one year ago, a new chapter of my life began.

I remember it fondly, how this Baguio boy walked the streets of Ayala trying to look for the building where he's suppose to work. He's only been there once so he was worried that he might take the wrong turn and end up miles away from the RCBC Tower.

He couldn't call his friends back home because they wouldn't be of much help and he was scared that they might point out that it was a mistake to come here. He was actually more worried about the fact that they might be right.

He was in shock of the people, the culture, the weather...oh dear God the weather which felt like being in a sauna in the middle of the Sahara Desert.

April 19, 2011

One year later, the boy from Baguio has made friends. Has memorized the streets of Ayala. Has got accustomed to the people, culture, and the weather. Though the heat still bothers him at times.

A year later, this Baguio boy has adjusted to the life here, but misses his home nonetheless. He has made fantastic friends, but his friends back home will always have a place in his heart.

A year later, the boy has been working for the same company, and is having the time of his life.

So much has happened in those 12 months... and he does not regret any of them.

Happy Anniversary to me and my batchmates. We survived one year.

Day 11

A picture of something you hate.

A white lie is ok once in a while but lie to my face and that's it. I have trust issues kasi.

Monday, April 18, 2011

Day 09

A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.

This person would be Darnell.

Through thick and thin Darnell has always been there and always sees right through me.

He's one of the few people who knows me inside and out.

Day 08

A picture of your night.

Confined at St. Lukes. :(

Day 07

A picture of the person you do the most f*cked up things with.

Easy.

Si Lyve.

Need I say more?

She looks so badass doesn't she? Thats why I love her. And her hooters.

Day 06

A picture that makes you laugh.

Lumabas kasi kami nila Darnell noon, eh hindi siya pwedeng uminom so ako ang umubos ng halos isang bote ng The Bar.

All I remember was nagsusuka ako sa labas ng bahay. Sa sobrang kalasingan ko, Darnell took a lot of pictures of me that night para pang asar pero ito alng yung ipopost ko hehe.

New Toy!!!

When the iPad first came out i fell in love with it because it looked so promising. I passed by the apple store and played with it and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Siguro dahil narin sa iPhone ko kaya I didnt find it special. I just thought of it as a bigger iPod Touch.

More tablets came out. One of them was the Galaxy Tab. I did not find it spectacular. But that all changed one faithful day when I passed by Globe and played with their galaxy tab. I immediately fell in love with it. More so that with the iPad.

Now lo and behold, I finally have it.

It comes with the bare necessities like the usb cable, headphones and charger. Nothing extraordinary and the headset feels cheap but I like the headset because they're earbuds. Just the way I like 'em.

And the Tablet itself. I can't get enough of it. I love the fact that it's not too big or too small. It fit perfectly in my hand and using it as an ebook reader is such a joy,

At dahil burara ako, kelangan ng case to protect the screen. The case doubles as a stand as well.

I've read tons of reviews about it and majority of them are good. The only complains I see are that it doesn't have that many games. Fine by me since I have more than enough on my iPhone.

It costs around the same price of an iPad but I like the features of this because I have more freedom to do what I want with it.

I'll make a full review after one week.

For full specs of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, click here.

So screw you iPad, I love my tab. :)

5 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Love Me

1. I am terrible at remembering some details. I'd forget your favorite color or food that you're allergic to. Pati cellphone number mo, I won't be 100% sure about.

2. I always insist on what I want. I would argue for hours just to get what I want.

3. My temper is really short. As in sobrang bilis uminit ng ulo ko specially pag hindi clear ang sinabi mo sa akin. At pag galit ako, I am very irrational to the point na warla kung warla.

4. Kuripot ako. Period.

5. My standards are ridiculously high. I sometimes think that my standards are too high for my own good.

Day 04

A picture of something you'd like to do again.

I miss singing on stage. Yung thrill, yung nerbyos, yung lights, at kung ano ano pang shit. Dito medyo mahirap lalo na at lagi akong nasa work.

Someday, yayanigin ko ang stage...ng Araneta!

Oo ambisyoso ako baket?! Bawal mag-react. Blog niyo?

Day 03

A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

I'm a sucker for Sci-Fi shows and movies and so far, Fringe has been my perfect fix. I can watch it over and over and over again.

Try it and take a walk on the wild side. Or maybe the other side.

Day 02

A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.

Of course thats my mom. We have been through a lot and im glad that she has always been there for me.

Day 01

A picture of yourself with ten facts about you.

1. I usually buy 2 or 3 shirts of the same design but with different colors.
2. I love pandas and koalas.
3. I read very fast.
4. Jollibee peach-mango pies are my guilty pleasure.
5. I'm a proud Ilocano.
6. I love the cold and the rain.
7. I'm a textbook narcissist. I fall perfectly into the stereotype.
8. I can read in French but I have trouble speaking it.
9. Most of my friends have the same first impression of me. Mukha daw akong high-maintenance at suplado.
10. I have trust issues so if you lie to me or niloko mo ako kahit minsan lang, goodluck.

And those are ten facts about me.

1 day down, 29 days to go.

Congratulations SexyAnne!!!

I know how much she wants the position and I know how hard she worked to prove herself and I am so glad that her efforts were not in vain.

Masayang masaya ako para sa kanya. Although mas demanding na ang mga bagong trabaho namin, dedma lang kasi this is what we want. This where we are good at. So We.Will.Kick.Ass.

Her joy is unparalleled, she's also shitting rainbows.

Nga pala, here is the announcement Parker made for us. Sorry kung may part na naka black-out. Confidential eh hehehe.

Basta masaya kami.

Cue the music, "Pangarap na Bituin"

♫♫Unti-unting mararating...kalangitan at bituin♫♫

Breathe! Breathe! Breath!

Sa smoking area.

"Can I have a minute?", sabi ni Madam HR ng bigla siyang pumasok.

I ended the line.

"Sure. Whats up?", sagot ko kay Madam.

"I already have the status of your application", sagot niya.

"And?", I asked with trepidation.

Seryoso parin ang fez niya. Humithit siya sa yosi niya.

Tumingin siya sa akin ng deretso.

"Tanggap ka", sinabi niya sabay ngiti.

"HOYMAYGAD!!! SERYOSO KA????!!!! OH MY GOD!!!", hiyaw ko.

After one year, napromote narin ako at non-ops pa. Hindi na ako agent! Yehey! Isang taon din na araw araw kong sinasabi ang, 'Thank you for calling...how can I assist you?".

Sosyal diba? May titulo na ako hahaha. I am so happy right now, I'm shiting rainbows.

Antaray diba? Syempre, si Parker ang gumawa hihihi.

I just have to finish the week in Poker and on Monday I start my new job.

Hanggang ngayon shocked parin ako.

It feels very surreal.

Someone slap me and tell me I'm not dreaming! Bilis!

Down The Aisle

Last Saturday, I attended the wedding of April who was one of our team mates.

So ayun, sa reception kami dumeretso.

The entire thing was beautiful and we could see how happy April was. She was glowing. As in tatalunin niya sa liwanag ang mahiwagang globe dun sa MOA.

The most moving part of the whole thing was during the father-daughter dance. April and her father went center stage and danced to "Dance With My Father" by Luther Vandross.

I love weddings because you get to witness something that happens only once in someone's life. I remember back in Baguio when I used to organize and host events because most of them were weddings. I know how much time, money and effort is put into a wedding.

Happy as I may be, I feel sad everytime I attend weddings because it reminds me of some of the things I don't know if I can have. Buti nalang there are churches here that perform same sex unions. Pwede na siguro yun.
Anyway, April thank you for inviting us to the most special day of your life. I was actually surprised na invited ako kasi I haven't known April that long pero isa kasi ako sa mga tumutulong sa kanya sa department namin. I hope for the best for April and may she have the happily ever after that we all secretly dream of.

May their marriage be one for the books. The type of love upon which Disney movies are built.

Hingang Malalim

"So tell me something about yourself", said the tall man who stood 6'3'' or maybe more.

"Well, I'm Anton. I graduated with a degree in Communications. We had majors in Broadcasting, Broadcast Journalism, Advertising, and Journalism. To name a few. I've been working for about a year as a Poker/Gaming Rep", I answered.

A few days back, I had my final interview for a position that I applied for a week ago. It's been quite the ride for me because first I had to fix my resume the I had to go through an interview with HR before I got to the final. The thing was, I had to pass the previous ones to get this far.

When Madam HR received my resume and cover letter, she immediately e-mailed me.

"Change it. Make it creative. It looks boring kasi", she said.

Later on, I found out that the reason why she wanted me to change it was because the first stage of the application is Paper Screening. Babasahin. Kung magustuhan nila, pasado na ako and go na sa initial interview.

My resume had to be something that would catch their attention, not just with what's written but by how it looks overall. A for effort.

Pumasa ako sa Paper Screening and had my initial interview with someone from HR. It was nerve wrecking, but at least her bubbly personality and sweet smile broke the tension and made everything easier. Two days later, sinabi na pumasa ako. Go na sa finale!

It was Wednesday. It was my final interview with two of the big bosses.

Puro tawanan at biruan. It was very casual. Of course they did ask me why I wanted the position and why would I be suitable for it.

Being me, I answered with complete confidence.

The reason why I didnt blog about it was  because I didn't wanna jinx it.

Oh and my favorite part of the interview was this:

"How would you rate your fluency in english from one to te--"

"Ten", I answered without batting an eyelash.

"Oh. Cocky...I like it. Confident...Good!", said the interviewer and then he smiled.

I felt at ease after that.
