Good Bye Little Mermaid The Musical

Was browsing through a few of the broadway sites I usually visit when I saw that The Little Mermaid The Musical would be closing on broadway on August 30. I was in disbelief because They only started last year. But They have been receiving mixed reviews ever since they opened and most of them we're negative. But still, its such a shame that they're gonna close already. I guess bringing Drew Seleey in the production wasn't that big'a help.

Still we'll miss the Little Mermaid. Who knows, they might revive it in the future or go on tour. Or something like that because even though the older crowd doesnt like it that much, the kids still rave about it.

AWOL

Okay dear readers, because my phone can't upload any pictures to my blog, I cant blog properly with my phone. Because of my busy schedule, I cant update my blog as often as I used to but I'll do my best to keep up. So the title describes whats gonna happen to me. Yes, Im gonna disappear from the blogosphere for a few days or maybe a week or two. Depends on how my schedule checks out. For updates on me, check on my twitter updates or follow me on twitter. Okay? Okay.

Thanks to blog owner of "From Evyl with Love" for the idea on the title.

Goodbye Nicole Parker

Nicole PArker

Dee Roscioli

On January 16, 2009 Nicole Parker took over the role of Elphaba from Marcie Dodd in the Broadway production of the musical Wicked. She played her final performance on July 19, 2009 and was replaced by former Chicago Elphaba Dee Roscioli. Dee Roscioli is now reprising the role of Elphaba, replacing Nicole Parker. Her first Broadway performance began July 21, 2009.

I had to copy paste from wikipedia. Im sad and can't think of how to write this properly.

Images were taken from playbill.com

Picture for Pak a.k.a. Kate

This is a picture of our circle of friends minus Pak because she had to go home already. Anyway, Im posting this for her.

Happy Birthday Boogs

(L-R) Reuben, Me, Argee, Ralf, Boogs, Pak a.k.a Kate, Jethro, and Shoji.

We celebrated the Birthday of our friend Boogs last saturday. Its a way to unwind after the stressful first half of our exams. Second half starts next week. Sorry about the quality of the phone, it was nighttime and my phone's camera doesnt take good shots at night.

Marlboro Black

I know I shouldn't be posting this here because first, smoking is bad for the health and second, my mom reads my blog. But as Roger from American Dad once said, "Its menthol so its healthier than an apple".

I have been obsessing about the new Marlboro Menthol Black edition but I couldnt find any then one day, one of my friends Jethro showed me he had a pack so I asked where he bought it and he said 7/11. We rushed to 7/11 and we each bought a pack. It came with a free lighter. After that, we went to McDonalds for lunch. Have I mentioned how much I love 7/11?

Seperated at birth?

Lea Michele and Idina Menzel

They say that Lea Michele and Idina Menzel look very alike. Its all over the broadway blogs. I dont know why but I just don't see it. But I have to give it to Lea, she is a fantastic singer. I heard her sing On My Own. I wish she did Les Miserables. Lea Michele is part of the main cast of TV Show, Glee. Idina Menzel, well are any introductions needed for this broadway legend?
This is a view from my room. I sometimes stare out the window for an hour. I dont know why but it soothes me seeing this. That smoke is fog. Plenty of fog where I live. lol.

Oh Wow!!!

Shoshana Bean Twitt'd me. Just wanted to share. Really happy right now. *doing happy dance*

Avatar: The Last Airbender

I just bought the complete DVD set of Avatar the Last Airbender. I know, late news, blah blah, Avatars been out for years, blah blah. The thing is, its only now that I was able to enjoy watching Avatar.

When it first came out, I wasn't interested but when my housemate started watching it a few weeks ago, I got curios at how the story goes. Apparently its really nice. The graphics are really nice, its not your typical anime/cartoon. The story is ok although I find it too westernized considering that its supposed to be an asian tale. Oh well, at least its nice and at least the DVD's are out.

Where is she now?

Two years ago, I loved Belinda Peregrin. She's a spanish singer, really famous in Spain in Mexico at that time. Aside from being a singer, she has starred in a lot of telenovelas. Though I cannot speak in Spanish, I can fairly understand the language. I have a few spanish friends but they don't like Belinda because according to them, the lyrics dont mean anything. They described it as "jiber-jabber". But when I listened to 'Angel' and 'No Entiendo', I was able to grasp the meaning of the song.

Last I heard, she was recording a new album which is set to be released in September 2009. I have all of her Spanish and English albums and I do like most of her songs. The songs in her first album we're more on the pop side whilst the songs on her second album we're a mix of Ballad and Light Rock. I hope she becomes more active again either in TV or in Music.

Carrie Manolakos

Carrie Manolakos currently plays the standby for Elphaba in the 2nd national tour of Wicked. I found a recording of her singing Defying Gravity on youtube by accident. To be fair she's good. I like the fact that she sings the songs really well. I have yet to see any videos of her.

Anyway click here to listen to her singing THE WIZARD AND I.

For her website click here

Scott Alan's re-released album

Are there any kind souls out there who could help me get a copy of this album? I already have the first version of KEYS but I like this one because it has 2 news songs Please Don't Let Me Go by Caissie Levy and Nothing More by Scott Alan. He actually sang in the recording of Nothing more. Plus it has the Instrumental versions of West, Blessing, And There It Is, Behind These Walls, Again, & The Distance You Have Come.

Lunch Today

I hate Mondays. Its a very busy day for me. So I had lunch earlier at King Alfreds. Its the place where I used to eat when I was still studying at St. Louis University because they have the best sizzling platter in Baguio. When I got there I saw 2 of my old friends that I haven't seen in a really long time. To make it short, I had lunch with them. I really missed talking with them. Here they are:

Janis

Elem

I suddenly remembered that despite the things I didn't like in that school, my friends were my strength and salvation in that school. I met Janis through my Bestfriend Jackie back in second year. I met Elem in Lei-Ons, the modeling agency we were both part of. After a few days, I realized that she was my classmate in Economics. Small world.

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

I just finished watching Ice Age 3. Its a really funny movie but I still prefer the 1st Ice Age movie. The thing I liked about this installment is that it was a different a little more subtle take on "Journey to the Center of the Earth" which by the way is one of my favorite books. The new character "Buck" is quite a character. I liked his british/australian accent. He reminded me a lot of Johnny Depp when he played 'Jack Sparrow' in 'Pirates of the Carribean'.

Im not gonna summarize the story. Just think of Journey to the Center of the Earth and that should give you an idea of how the movie goes. Oh yeah, Ellie gives birth to a girl mamoth.

My favorite scene was the oen with the laughing gas which I think had a lot of helium in it. Just watch the movie because you're gonna enjoy it.

Dinner Last Night

Last night Lyve treated me out to a free dinner. She promised me last week. We went to this Korean Restaurant that she likes. I dont really eat Korean food because I prefer Japanese but she was paying so I didnt care. I dont know the name of the place because it was written in Korean. It looks like a typical restaurant, nothing special about it. They only served two things on the menu. This is what Lyve ordered and she ordered enough for two people.

You have to cook the meat first

I had no idea what this was but it tasted good

There's Lyve cooking the food because I have no idea how things are done

This is how it looks like when its cooked

It was my first time in this place because the only Korean restaurants I go to would be HODORI and Wood Nymph. But at least the food was great in this place. One of these days, I'll figure out what the name of this place is.
