Glee on Edsa

I saw this on Edsa, I couldnt get a close up of the billboard because I was in the car. So glee is actually getting more famous ei? Seems like yesterday when only a few people knew about Glee, I was one of those people, look for my post about it, it was sometime in June. Still, I dont marathon Glee like I do House or Supernatural but I like watching it from time to time, thank god for torrents, its easier to get a copy of the latest episodes.

My Mom's new Car

She gave up the CRV for a Starex. At least now theres more space when we travel. And I like it because its cold and has a lot of leg room.

A Piece of Heaven

This place is called "ISDAAN" and is found somewhere in Tarlac (I think). When I woke up, the car was already parked and everyone was getting out. Its a really big place and its really really awesome. Its looks like Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia all rolled into one place. The food was great though it took forever for them to serve. Whats nice about this place is that it floats on water. Seriously. You stay in Huts and those huts float on water so you get to see all the fish that swim. Scroll down for some pics. There are more on my Facebook page. I really like the Buddha Statues because they look so authentic.

Comic Alley

Comic Alley is one of my favorite shops in SM so I make it a point that when I go to Manila, I go to comic alley and buy something. This time I bought a Fullmetal Alchemist Rubber Mousepad (because my Final Fantasy VII Mousepad is almost worn out), and I bought a watch. Its a Final Fantasy VII watch. It has this on the middle:
Its really cool, it doesnt even look like an anime inspired watch. Im sure that when Zeke seems me wearing this, he'll try to kill me. Though its my Fullmetal Alchemist Watch that he really wants but still, its Final Fantasy. hahaha.

Edsa Shangri-La

This is where we stayed. The room was a little expensive but the place was good. The staff were really nice, they smiled all the time that after a day it started to feel creepy. hahaha. The pool was nice but I wasnt able to take pictures of it. What I love about this hotel is that it's beside SM Megamall, its near Robinsons and Shangri-La Plaza. Plus its about 20 or 30 minutes away from Greenbelt if you take a cab. Anyway, I really enjoyed my stay at Edsa Shangri-La.

Power Rangers!!!

I was walking around Megamall when I saw that there was this Power Rangers event. I didnt know that exact name of the event, all I know it had something to do with Jungle Fury. If you're a regular reader of my blog or if you know me personally then you know that I like Power Rangers. LOL. I dont know why, but ever since I was young I loved watching power rangers. I remember my dad buying me all 5 weapons from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and my mom bought me the power morpher and the gunsword for my 9th birthday. Hahaha.

La Diva Singing the Philippine National Anthem

Just read about this issue. Im obviously not updated with current events. hahaha

Anyhoo, I saw this from The Professional Hecklers Blog in his Personal Post dated November 18, 2009.

Personal
Ito ay isang panawagan sa National Historical Institute na patuloy sa pagpapaunlak ng panayam sa media kaugnay ng anila’y maling pag-awit ng La Diva sa
Lupang Hinirang noong laban ni Manny Pacquiao. If the ladies violated the law, then sanction them according to the written rules and regulations ng NHI. Dakdak kayo nang dakdak noon pa mang Pacquiao-Hatton fight, pero wala naman kayong ginagawang aksyon. Nasaan na si Martin Nievera? Naparusahan ba? If there’s a law, then impose the freakin’ law. Hindi ‘yung putak kayo nang putak, wala naman kayong kongkretong aksyong ginagawa laban sa mga “nagkamali.” Punyeta!

I have to agree with the Heckler. If it was wrong for La diva to sing the National Anthem this way then they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But my question is, what about the other people who made a mistake in singing the song such as Martin Nievera and Christian Bautista? If they were pertaining to the "birit" part or the part where the ladies hit high notes that were not in the original melody, then Sarah Geronimo should be persecuted as well seeing as she did the same thing when she sang the National Anthem.

For those of you who do not know the style of the arrangement sang by La Diva, it is a type of chorale arrangement more commonly known as SSA or Soprano-Soprano-Alto. Please dont tell me that I need to elaborate on this. I listened to the recording of the song during the fight over and over again, and I noticed that they even incorporated parts of the original chorale version, which is recognized in the country. I was a choir master/conductor in the past so I know how to distinguish this even if i play it by ear.

If the NHI is actually planning to take Legal Action on this, they need to be reminded that it was not only La Diva who sang the song wrong (according to them), other singers should be prosecuted as well. Well? Besides, isn't the point of singing the National Anthem, feeling the spirit of patriotism and feeling the passion for our country? La Diva did not sing the song in RnB or Pop, or Rock. They sang it so passionately and I do not see whats wrong with that.

Here is the La Diva version of the Lupang Hinirang.

Here is the NHI's response to the La Diva version of the Lupang Hinirang.

200th Post

My Dear blog readers, this is my 200th post. My blog has been open for 1 year and 1 month. I had a hard time deducing what I should blog about and then I remembered that I like posting about gadgets so I'll post something about my phone. The last time I posted something about this phone, it was about me thanking Lyve for the phone. Now, I'll blog why I love the damn phone. It'll be like a phone review ei?

This is the Nokia N78, which was released 3rd or 4th quarter of 2008. It has WiFi, GPS (which I dont use but still...), 3.2 Megapixels with a Tessar Lens with LED Flash, dedicated shortcut key, N-Gage 2.0 Gaming System compatible, Document Viewer such as AdobePDF and Quick Office. The phone runs on Symbiam Series 60 OS 3rd Edition so you can only install .sisx applications on it.

At first it's hard to text using the phone because the keypad is designed with thin straight lines but in time, you get used to it. The sound from the speakers are nicely distributed because there is one on the lower left side and one on the upper right side. The camera button is big so taking pictures is easy. The secondary camera which is used for video calling could also be used to take picture for self shots. The Navi Wheel is a nicely added touch to the phone, so you can scroll without pressing the D-pad, just slide your fingers around it. Reminds me of the scroll wheel from the Samsung U700.

The graphical user interface has improved compared to the first N Series phones. I like that the themes have effects, and its a different effect per theme. The theme effects, resemble that of the Iphone.

Listening to Music is easy because of 1.) the simple yet stylish interface of the music player which also comes with visualizations and 2.) the 3.5 mm audio jack which allows you to use any kind of regular headphones/ headsets/ speakers.

The WiFi connects really fast and you can set it for auto detect and auto connect. Once connected, it instantly opens the browser and browsing is a breeze.

A few minutes ago I updated my phones firmware to the latest firmware which was released in May this year. Now my phone became faster, it boots faster, and it comes with new themes, and it doesnt slow down even with the theme effects on. Now I really love the damn phone.

So far thats it. Well Im glad that i was able to reach 200 posts.

For the tech specs on this phone click here.
*UPDATE November 26, 2009*
I just came from a 10 hour trip and I played music on the phone the whole time seeing as I wouldve scratched my eyes out due to boredom if I didnt have anything to listen to or anything to do. I just checked my phone, and only one bar was consumed. Its still 90% charged. So that means, listening to music for 10 hours only consumes 10% of the battery's life??? I love this phone. Im'a say it over and over again! I love this phone.

Zeke's MacBook

Today I met up with Zeke. Zeke is an old friend of mine. He's a good writer and is a gadget-geek like me. First we had lunch at King Andrews then we went to Pizza Volante at SM to hangout and so that we can use Pizza Volante's WiFi. I brought my PSP with me and Zeke brought his laptop with him. He said he wanted to play Final Fantasy Dissidia, a game which I have on my PSP. I told him that if he wanted to play Dissidia, I have to use his MacBook. I dont know the exact model of his MacBook (I forgot to ask) but it is really cool. I love the interface and the apps. The genius bar or object dock is really cool. His MacBook runs on Mac OS X (Leopard).

Thats what I call "The Glowing Apple"

Zeke's MacBook

Zeke

The Object Dock which I find REALLY COOL

Hardware wise, I love the keyboard because its really easy to type and I also like the glowing apple.

I asked my friend Gomi if he could upgrade my laptop's OS which is Vista Home Premium to Mac OSX but when I told him that Im running on AMD Turion, he said that he couldn't install a Mac on a system that runs on AMD. I felt bad because I really the Mac OS interface. Now I have a new goal in life. To buy a MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air when I start working. Hahaha.

By the way, the pictures were taken using my N78. I like the quality of the pics. ^_^
