Homage To A Great Blogger
Last post na daw niya yun.
I could imagine the heartbreak his readers felt when they read this.
I've known Bookie since May 19, 2010. But before that, I was just one of his many many fans.
2008 nang mahanap ko ang blog ni Bookie.
I was searching for Power Rangers when his blog came up.
I was instantly hooked.
Everyday since then, I would visit his blog hoping for an update.
It became my happy pill.
Hindi pa ako out when I started reading his blog, I wasn't even out when he met me.
What I loved about his blog was that it was my safe-haven.
Within his blog, I felt safe. I felt at home. I felt that I can be myself.
Exaggerated? Who gives a flying fig.
He became my idol, and I would proudly say that to anyone.
Though he may have stopped writing on his blog, it doesn't erase the fact that Bookie, through his blog, became an inspiration to many whether he knows it or not.
His writing empowered his closeted reader and even gave some the courage to finally come out.
Bookie was the very first person I came out to because I saw something in him that gave me strength.
He promised me that things are better on the other side.
He was right.
I'm glad I listened.
Im sounding like a total fanboy right now. Again, who gives a flying fig.
Im happy that he is finally in good terms with his family. I know that that is something he's always wanted.
No more holidays or birthdays alone. No more coming home to an empty house.
See Bookie, the happy ending we writers envision can also come true.
So to end this, let me quote a line from my favorite musical, Wicked.
"Because I knew you, I have been changed for good."
So long and farewell Call Center Confidential.
The blogging world will never be the same without you.
